Relaxing and al fresco dining in San Jose, CA
The cracked concrete patio; the empty planting borders; and the scorching sun hitting the kitchen were the main issues the Clients wished to resolve.
Replacing the master bedroom window with a French door was also in their wish list.
The patio was re-shaped to allow the access into the garden from the new bedroom French doors and the concrete replaced by natural stone tiles. A wooden pergola with retractable canopies was positioned outside the kitchen to shade both the interior and an outdoor dining area.
Nearby sofa and chairs have been placed around a fire pit extending the use of the patio into the evening cooler hours.
A glazed pot was morphed into a water feature that works also as a focal point between drought-tolerant Mediterranean plants.
