After an extensive remodeling of their newly bought home, the Clients wanted their backyard to be an extension of the interior, both in style and function.

 
The old concrete patio was replaced by an Ipe deck and a concrete area for the BBQ. The new deck runs the whole length of the house getting wider near the kitchen/living area to make room for a dining table and chairs.

The deck links to a seating area paved with concrete stepping stones separated by pebbles.

The planting is low maintenance and drought-tolerant.

Raised beds, made with culvert pipes cut to different heights, add interest and make planting easier. Some are used for growing vegetables and one in the side yard as a sand pit for the young son.
